Beechwood High School Marching Tigers won their third consecutive state KMEA band competition championship, this year in the 2A category.
The annual competition features four finalists from each of five classes, which are based on school size and number of musicians.
Judges consider musical performance, visual performance, and general effect – everything from posture, pacing, interpretation, and technique to creativity, artistry, intonation, and overall musicianship.
The Kentucky Music Educators Association has organized the state championships since 1986.
This is the first year in 2A.
We did not win last year in 1A.
