MILWAUKEE — Less than 24 hours after using a 3-point barrage to defeat Milwaukee, Northern Kentucky turned to its inside attack to complete a weekend road sweep of the Panthers.
Adrian Nelson scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead NKU to a 79-65 win over Milwaukee in the Klotsche Center. Trevon Faulkner netted a game-high 21 points for the Norse, who extended their winning streak to six and improved to 11-8 overall, 9-5 in the Horizon League.

Faulkner converted seven free throws in eight attempts as NKU finished 19-for-24 at the line. The Norse — who buried 18 shots from 3-point range on Friday during an 87-73 win — were 6-for-21 from long range on Saturday.
Faulkner scored 17 points in the first half as NKU built a 39-34 lead at the break. The Norse led by as many as 16 points late in the game and defeated Milwaukee for the 10th consecutive time.
Milwaukee has not defeated NKU since Jan. 12, 2017, when the Panthers posted a 68-58 win over the Norse.
Nelson continued his torrid shooting from the field, going 7-for-8 and adding three assists. The 6-foot-7 junior grabbed five offensive rebounds among his 14 boards. Nelson is now 41-for-45 shooting (91 percent) from the field during the past 10 games.
Marques Warrick added 16 points for the Norse, while teammate Trey Robinson chipped in 14 points off the bench.
NKU won the rebounding battle by a whopping 38-22 margin. Bryson Langdon scored seven points and dished out five assists for the Norse.
Josh Thomas led Milwaukee (7-8 overall, 6-7 Horizon League) with 19 points. DeAndre Gholston added 10 points for the Panthers.
NKU visits Green Bay next weekend for a two-game Horizon League series, starting with a 5 p.m. contest on Friday.
