The City of Covington is calling all superheroes, princesses, villains, Blueys, Ghostbusters, Coralines, Barbies, Kens, Huggy Wuggys, witches, Minecraft Steves, Baby Sharks, and more to make their way to the David Housley Pavilion at Randolph Park next week as Halloween fun in The Cov gets underway.

Parents and kids will put their best pumpkin carving skills in action during Covington Parks and Recreation’s Pumpkin Carving Nights, held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and Thursday, Oct. 24.
The Parks and Rec team will provide all the necessary tools to create a jack-o-lantern. The creations will then be featured at Saturday’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Festival. The event, also at the David Housley Pavilion at Randolph, occurs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 26.
Kiddos can take the jack-o-lanterns home after they’ve had their share of fun at the festival, enjoying things like: face painting, a bounce house and slide, Balloon Twister, carnival games, Touch-A-Truck with the Covington Police and Fire departments, a haunted TANK bus, a mummy-making contest, festive photo opp, candy, arts and crafts, costume contest, games, free food and drinks that include hot dogs, gourmet popcorn, cotton candy, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate. and a costume contest.
“Every year our goal is to make this event bigger and better, and to reach more people in the community,” said the City’s Recreational Program Coordinator, Alicia Chappell.
The festivities provide a great way for neighbors to come together for a great time with their families.
“We want everyone to have a great time, connect with their neighbors, and leave with smiles on their faces and a lot of new memories,” said Covington Park Project Coordinator Payton Hopkins.
