OneNKY Alliance will host its seventh annual summit Wednesday entitled Changing it Up in OneNKY: a Systemic Focus on Excellence.
The annual gathering provides an in-person opportunity for regional business and community leaders to learn of OneNKY initiatives designed to address the future of the OneNKY community. This focus continues to boldly transform Northern Kentucky.

To accelerate this approach, the OneNKY Alliance has implemented an awareness effort targeted to area residents to increase connectivity and pride with the goal of creating a unified region. Called Building CommUNITY, the marketing effort uses strategic outreach and engagement tactics like outdoor and media advertising placed throughout Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties to promote OneNKY. This resident sentiment effort will support the NKY Regional Identity work now underway – the shared external narrative as new business, talent and tourism is recruited to the region.
In support of this outreach, the “OneNKY Challenge” will be introduced at the Summit which will be held at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday.
The OneNKY Challenge will encourage residents, workers, business owners and employers to participate in one of several initiatives that offer systemic change for the community. Opportunities for involvement are listed on www.onenky.com with participants encouraged to indicate their interest via info@OneNKYAlliance.com.
Media professional Evan Millward will open the Summit, introducing the OneNKY Challenge and kickstarting the event for those in attendance. Challenge participants will ask themselves two questions: What commitment can I make to “Change It Up in OneNKY”? And how will my fulfilling that commitment help create positive systemic excellence in OneNKY? People do not have to attend the Summit to take part in the Challenge.
Seven years ago, hosting a yearly OneNKY Summit was first discussed as a time for attendees to learn about new initiatives and provide feedback. The successful annual event now continues to unite and mobilize leaders and organizations around new ideas to drive OneNKY forward. Some of the other now successful initiatives that were launched at a OneNKY Summit include:
• OneNKY Center, a centrally located facility housing key growth organizations under one roof to accelerate strategic regional growth. It will open in 2025.
• OneNKY Frankfort, a facility within steps of the Capitol that provides the region’s organizations and leaders voice, presence, and united impact with legislators and decision-makers.
• LINKnky, a multi-media independent news platform, now in its third year, to share local information and create a sense of place for residents.
• EducateNKY, an organization that identifies and focuses on addressing the needs of our student populations through a systemic combination of educational strategies.
• Breathe Easy NKY, a grassroots effort to improve public health, economic outlook, and overall quality of life through the passage of comprehensive smoke-free ordinances in Northern Kentucky.
The Summit agenda includes updates on initiative progress and offers interactive breakouts to encourage participants to focus on priorities as they discuss opportunities for future success in the region.
“The OneNKY Summit is one way we answer our fundamental call to build unity and to accelerate bold change through bold action,” said Karen Finan, president and CEO of OneNKY Alliance. “In partnership with the OneNKY Alliance Board, growth organizations, and key stakeholders, Summit attendees learn about proactive efforts to initiate and cultivate regional success. And this year, the Challenge encourages personal involvement and accountability.”
Every year, the OneNKY Summit agenda supports a shared vision that the community speaks with one impactful voice resulting in world class standards of community vibrancy, health, and education for all. The event has proven to be a vehicle to help transform, unite, and mobilize local leaders, growth organizations, and members of the community for the good of all of Northern Kentucky.
“Our region has many assets and opportunities to celebrate. We want to do just that, while considering what is next as we grow and develop a strong future for the good of all.” said OneNKY Board Chairman, Robert Heil, executive director strategic relationships and community engagement with KLH Engineers.
