I am Jeannine Bell “JB” Smith. I am not a politician. I am an educator committed to excellence and investment in my community, dedicating 30 years in Kenton County Schools. As a master teacher, I wore many hats as  teachers always do serving students, parents and community. It is most humbling  when a student writes a letter that you have made a difference in their life. Service over self-defines my commitment to be a positive contributor to my city, my county, my state, my beloved country.

My dedication to conservative values, fiscal responsibilities, transparency, accountability, limited government, and free markets are of utmost importance. As a consumer advocate have addressed concerns to Duke Energy on rate hikes, NKY Sanitation District on Consent Degree, regarding the EPA and The Clean Water Act 1972, the Kentucky Department of Transportation regarding the safety of Bromley Crescent Springs Road and served as a Member of the Consumers’ Advisory Council for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. There is no bureaucracy that will silence my voice speaking for the people.

Election November 6, 2018, I was a write-in candidate for Crescent City Council. I managed by campaign with signs, mailers making many new friends along the way.

The results of the election vote count: 79-79-53. It was a tie. A tie vote is decided much like a football game, as described by Brian Hamrick, WLWT, a toss of the coin.

Lost the toss, but I gained so much more learning about our community, making new friends and realizing, I can make a difference. The people really care when you put yourself out in the arena of life. I was appointed to council May 2022 to fill the vacancy when Mike Daugherty  filled the vacant mayor position. I was re-elected 2023-2024.

The voices of the people must be heard to challenge any practices they deem as unfair of government overreach. I am a student of the Constitution and defend the right of the people to petition the government for a redress of grievances and to peacefully assembly. Open Meetings and Open Records, first and foremost  belong to the people.

The responsibility of the city ensures the safety of our community. Our Police Officers  are dedicated to serve and protect. Our Fire Authority men and women dedicated to answer that 911 call day or night in minutes. We are so fortunate to have a topnotch Fire Authority and Police Force serving our community.

My Mantra:” It is not just talking about a problem or concerns, but to take action and find a resolution.” I strive to represent the best interests of the citizens of Crescent Springs with gratitude, your voice, your vote for Jeannine Bell “JB” Smith shall make a difference.
