‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign for seat belt safety enforcement kicks off for summer travel season


For the third year, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Hamilton County Safe Communities, AAA and police officers representing agencies from Kentucky and Ohio have partnered together to promote the national safety belt enforcement campaign, “Click It or Ticket.”

The summer travel season campaign will kick off tomorrow at 10 a.m. at
AAA/Bob Sumerel Tire & Service, 3998 Red Bank Road (Red Bank Village) in Fairfax.

The Memorial Day weekend, fast-approaching, traditionally marks the beginning of summer travel.

AAA will offer motorists a vacation maintenance inspection and car seat check until 2 p.m.

Travel information, giveaways, refreshments and travel discounts will be available. The Kentucky Speedway pace truck will be on display.

The 2015 Click It or Ticket enforcement mobilization runs from May 18 through May 31.

Participating in the kick-off will be Katherine Schwartz will share her personal testimony of how seatbelts saved her and her son’s life in a head on collision; Cheryl Parker, AAA Corporate Public Affairs Manager; Lt. Col. George Williams, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Bill Bell, Director of the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety
