Battaglia selections for Thursday, Jan. 25
Race 1
SISTER JIB is a speedy filly who will be hard to catch. SEVEN SEIZE makes big drop in class. QUEEN OF CORONA has been running well against tougher.
Race 2
THE GORILLA MAN has shown big improvement since switching to the Mike Maker barn. MEMORIAL BLUE comes off back-to-back wins here. The trainer of PETEINTHEHALL has scored with several long shots including this one at 27-1.
Race 3
GIANT RED trainer just missed here last out at the same distance and level. JUST ANOTHER JOHN comes off a decent run with classier. FULKERSON shows good speed last out but may weaken late off the layoff.
Race 4
CANDRASA was beaten only four lengths coming off a layoff and drops a notch in class. LOVE THE POWER has the speed to make the lead. MAGNETIC SPOT was second in her last two races here.
Race 5
MUSHABOOM ran much better in her two races on the Poly and figures to graduate. MORNING WAVES closed fast off a three-month vacation and should like the added distance. LUNA MESA broke slowly in only her second career race and is bred for two turns.
Race 6
ERIN’S WISH is in top form, finishing first or second in six of her last seven. JERSEY CHASER was beaten only a length by our top pick last start and will like the longer distance. ALTA RITA comes off a bullet work .
Race 7
GENERAL MACARTHUR is a classy son of War Front who has been running against much better and his works are good. SPRING SOLO won both of his starts and comes off two bullet works at Keeneland. JINGLE ME THIS won both career starts off this track.
Race 8
MAGICAL MOTION ran well in both career starts and drops in against easier today. SHE’S OBVIOUS has shown big improvement since the trainer change. SIMMARDS HEART was a close third in her only career start.
