Battaglia Selections for Saturday, March 3
RACE 1
GOOD MAN CHARLIE B came back to win after a four-month layoff. Look for him to make it two in a row tonight. SANDERSTEAD has the speed to be on or near the lead throughout and is the one to catch. MIGUEL is a contender.
RACE 2
PERSONAL CAT comes off of a couple of solid efforts and looks best in a fairly weak maiden claimer. MY SOLDIER GIRL has shown nothing in her two races over this track but drops to the bottom and could wake up. LIZA JANE is lightly raced and could improve.
RACE 3
DUBAIAN won at first asking but stopped badly when moved up against allowance runners last out. She drops back in for a tag and rates the slight edge. NYMUE’S TREASURE is a three-year-old taking on older runners but she looked good in her debut win and is the one to beat. ELOQUENT MOMENT rates a chance.
RACE 4
MAC THE MAN is a veteran runner who moves up in class after a sharp win. He can make it two in a row for Jeff Greenhill with Bermudez back aboard. SKIFFS BREWMEISTER and BIRDS GONE WILD finished a head apart last out and figure to run well again tonight.
RACE 5
ZEMO drops to the bottom after a good effort last out and appears to be in a good spot to get her maiden win. EPPUR SI MUOVE looks like the main competition. TAMARACK will be running at the end.
RACE 6
BOUND FOR NOWHERE was very sharp winning his first two races for Wesley Ward. He ran a decent race in a Group 1 in England but failed to fire in his race in France. He has been training sharply for his return to the U.S. and should be ready tonight. IRON MANE is also trained by Ward. He has been a consistent runner and comes off of a good runner-up effort. INFINITE MIDNIGHT exits the same race as Iron Mane and is a solid threat.
RACE 7
RULELIKECLEOPATRA has been off since June but has a series of bullet works for Doug Danner, who is having an excellent meet. She loves this track and gets the nod with Franklin picking up the mount. ERIN’S WISH showed big improvement in her second start over this track and a repeat of that one makes her the one to beat. LUSTY GIT YOUR GUN is another one who runs well here at Turfway and figures to be a solid threat.
RACE 8
PRIMED FOR TALENT was a beaten favorite last out but should get a good trip from the inside post and looks best for Larry Holt and Ouzts. OUR GORDIE is on the also-eligible list but would be the one to beat if he draws in. SUCCESS PHIL is one for 30 but finished right behind the top pick last out and has to be considered.
How much does it cost to enter the race track and just watch?
