The Pike Street Stroll debuts along the Covington corridor tonight.
The Pike Street Stroll is a monthly evening event (5pm – 8pm) along the Pike Street corridor between Holman and Scott Streets. Guests are encouraged to browse over 35 art galleries, shops, businesses, restaurants and bars along the corridor, while enjoying local music.
The Pike Street Stroll brings together dozens of businesses on Pike Street to share community and camaraderie with not only the neighborhood but each other. “It’s great to work together in this way, says Suzy King of Handzy Shop + Studio.” Most of us are small business owners, and have just ourselves or one or two other staff members, so we’re usually in own shops – it’s nice to meet up with the other owners to bring this to life.”
King along with her business partner, Brittney Braemer provided the design look and feel for the Pike Street Stroll logos and posters (see attached).
“We hope the stroll creates a sense of community on Pike street, while helping to showcase the talent we have here with all the different businesses and artists!” says Michelle Kirn, of Grainwell. Kirn, along with her two sisters, Meylissa and Christine, own the wood-centric decor design business.
In addition to later business hours and street musicians along the route, many of the galleries and shops are offering unique programming each month, please see below:
