Scott sophomore pitcher Jake Ohmer allowed only two hits in a 7-0 win over South Warren on Thursday that put the Eagles in the final four of the Rawlings/KHSAA State Baseball Tournament at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
Scott (23-11) will play West Jessamine (34-7) in a semifinal game at 8:30 p.m. Friday with the winner advancing to the championship final set for 7 p.m. Saturday.

After getting off to a 9-8 start this season, Scott has now won 14 of its last 17 games to make it to the state semifinals for the first time in the history of the program.
Ohmer posted the first shutout in this year’s state tournament with a masterful performance in Thursday’s quarterfinal game. He had seven strikeouts and didn’t give up a walk until the seventh inning. South Warren’s only two hits were singles in the second and fifth innings. Ohmer’s pitching record is now 7-1 this season.
Scott scored one run in the second, fourth and fifth innings to build a 3-0 lead. In the top of the seventh, the Eagles got four runs on three hits with back-to-back triples by junior shortstop Andrew Trame and Ohmer driving in the first two runs.
Trame had two of the Eagles’ six hits in the victory. Senior outfielder Eli Sowder drove in two runs for the 10th Region champs.
Highlands, the 9th Region champion, will play Greenup County in the other state semifinal game on Friday. This is first time that two Northern Kentucky teams have made it to the final four of the state baseball playoffs since a realignment that put local schools in different regions was completed in 2006.
