A release party for Rick Robinson’s new political thriller, The Advance Man, is set for June 18, at Joseph Beth Bookstore in Crestview Hills Town Center. The event starts at 7 p.m.
Publisher Page (an imprint of Headline Books) released the book nationally on Derby Weekend in honor of the heritage of the book’s main character, a Kentucky Congressman. Robinson, who is from Kentucky, is a two-time Independent Author of the Year and former London Book Festival grand prize winner.
The fifth installment of the series (and Robinson’s ninth book overall), Richard Thompson is thrust back into public life when he is appointed to fill a vacancy in the US Senate. With the nation in mourning over the death of the Vice President all law enforcement is searching for his alleged killer, a young mid-westerner who was working at the White House as an advance man at the time of the assassination. As the young man tries to hide in D.C.’s trendy DuPont Circle neighborhood, the key to proving the man’s innocence may—like him—be hiding in plain sight. And its discovery could spark a new Cold War.
Best-selling author P.J. O’Rourke calls Robinson’s works “…an excellent series of D.C. thrillers.”
