Cincinnati Police estimate 650,000 visitors enjoyed Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, September 21-23, according to police estimates.
“We’re thrilled that Zinzinnati rallied despite unpredictable weather,” said Jill P. Meyer, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, producer of the event. “The addition of the SkyStar Wheel and support from Sam Adams and Amazon made for a great wiener-racing, barrel rolling, stein carrying, brat-eating, chicken-dancing weekend.”
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, presented by Amazon and Sam Adams, showcases the rich German heritage of Southwest Ohio, as well as samples of German-style music, food and beer. First held in 1976, the event has grown to be America’s largest Oktoberfest.
“Special thanks to our visitors, vendors and volunteers who work hard every year to make Oktoberfest a uniquely Zinzinnati event, rain or shine,” added Cynthia Oxley, director of the event. “Additional thanks to the year-round dedication of Cincinnati Police, Fire, Traffic and Engineering, ODOT and many others which resulted in another safe and successful Oktoberfest Zinzinnati.”
The event experienced no police incidents.
