WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26 (Preview)
Race 1
FINISHED and PISTOL BOX both come off of narrow losses in their first try over the Poly. Give the slight edge to FINISHED as he has better tactical speed and figures to be tough to catch. ZAPPER looks best of the rest.
Race 2
RULELIKECLEOPATRA was beaten as the odds on favorite last out after opening up a big lead and setting a very fast pace. She is capable of rating just off of the lead in this one and looks like a winner with Franklin picking up the mount for Doug Danner. YOU’RE THE REASON moves up a notch in class after dead heating for the win last out. She figures to improve in her third start back after a long layoff and is the one to beat. BREWS TOONIE TOSS has been solid on the synthetic at Woodbine and is a legitimate threat.
Race 3
COPUS is a nine year old veteran with a solid record over this track. He comes off of a game runner up effort last out and rates the edge with leading rider Rodney Prescott back aboard. IMPASSABLE CANYON finished behind the top pick last out but also likes this track and figures to be the main competition. FIGHTMASTER has the speed to be dangerous is he takes to the Poly.
Race 4
SIGHTS AND SOUNDS has had a solid year finishing in the money in 8 of his 11 races. He was extremely impressive winning his Turfway debut and can make it two in a row tonight. SNOW LEOPARD is an eight year old veteran with career earnings of over $400,000 who was dropped to the bottom last out by Kim Hammond. He won that one and was claimed but that big drop is still a reason for concern. BLAZER is riding a three race win streak and is the one to catch.
Race 5
BEE BALM ran well to finish second last out going long. She cuts back to 6 1/2 furlongs tonight and figures to be running late in a race that should have a lively pace. Give her the edge with Rafael Mojica back aboard for Jack Sisterson. FIRST KISS has been off since September but has been training steadily and her best makes her dangerous. TALAALAH has the speed to be on or near the lead and is a contender.
Race 6
PINK FOR ME looked good winning last out and can make it two in a row in this bottom claimer. RAINWALKER just missed in her last race and looks like the main competition. TIZ BEAUTY is a contender.
Race 7
TWINKLING KNIGHT just missed in his first race back after a year on the sidelines. He has to move forward off that one and looks like a solid bet to get the win for Darrin Miller with Machado aboard. MARVELOUS SKY has just one win in 23 starts but drops in class and figures to get a good trip from the inside post with McKee up. SIDNEY’S RANSOM fits in here.
Race 8
NO PICTURE CHARLIE beat several of these same runners last out and appears to be in a good spot to pick up his maiden win tonight. BABESWILDWEEKEND has only beaten one horse in her last three races but takes the big class drop and could wake up. KASAMOUNT rates a chance.
