THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27 (Preview)
Race 1
RAF was a game winner when dropped in for a tag last out. He is in a good spot to make it two in a row for Maker and Prescott. VERITAS drops in class after showing good speed against better. He is the one to beat. GATTO ROSSO rates a chance.
Race 2
RIDDLEMEREE didn’t show much last out as the heavy favorite but was compromised by a slow pace. She figures to be running late in a race that should have a much livelier pace tonight. VIDA LEVA EU comes off a win at Hawthorne and will be on or near the lead throughout. She is the one to catch. CAPE TIME should get a good trip from the inside post and is a solid contender.
Race 3
ETERNAL POWER just missed in a race here on opening night and posted a bullet work for Wes Ward Dec. 15th. He gets the nod in what looks like a well matched maiden claimer. CADILLAC KITTEN didn’t fire in his debut at Indiana Grand but drops in for a tag and Mike Maker has very good numbers with his second time starters. IMPERIAL MISSION drops in class and gets blinkers for his third career race.
Race 4
RINGIN IN THE RAIN stretches out to a mile after two game wins sprinting. She should be able to handle the added distance and is capable of extending her streak tonight. JEWELISA just missed in her last race and a repeat of that one makes her dangerous. CORA ANNE woke up in her first race over the Poly and is a solid threat.
Race 5
SHACKLED was a beaten favorite last out but looks like the controlling speed in here and can lead all the way with Prescott back up for Mike Maker. ST. RONANS is a consistent runner whose best race makes him dangerous. GO CHIVA GO woke up last out and rates a chance.
Race 6
GUNNY ROO closed strongly to win last out in his first race back after a nine-month layoff. Look for him to make it two in a row for Wes Ward with Luan Machado back aboard. SEA ADMIRAL was second behind Huntin Buddy, who came right back to win again here last Friday. He has the speed to be in contention throughout and will be tough to catch. SPATETACULAR JOE is a contender.
Race 7
ULTIMA D is another solid runner from the strong barn of Wes Ward. She broke her maiden in a stakes race last year but is winless since that score. She has trained sharply over the Turfway Poly and gets the nod in a tough allowance race. HEAVENLY HILL makes her first start since being claimed by Mike Maker. She has done her best running on the Poly and is definitely the one to beat. COURTMEWITHCARATS has had an excellent year and her speed makes her a solid threat.
Race 8
THE CURT FOX didn’t break sharply and then faded after making a mild middle move. He drops back in for a tag tonight and a return to his best form could make him a winner in the finale. UNION BOWMAN is an 11-year-old veteran making his 94th career start. He should get a good trip from the rail with Prescott picking up the mount. CAIRN comes off a game win and is a solid threat.
