FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Race 1
QUEEN JEANNE was fourth behind a repeat winner last out. She has the tactical speed to be in good position throughout and gets the nod in the opener. TRUE SIMPLICITY was a beaten favorite last out but her best makes her the one to beat. PEBBLE SLINGER is a solid threat.
Race 2
TIZ BEAUTY comes off an impressive win at this same level last out and appears to be in a good spot to make it two in a row for Marshall Godsey with Gabriel Lagunes back aboard. DANCING MAGICIAN was dull last out but a return to her best form could make her dangerous. I GOT IT will be running late.
Race 3
AMBIDEXTROUS ALEX had a two-race win streak snapped last out when he failed to show his normal early speed. He is capable of better and rates the edge with McKee back aboard. DREAM SATURDAY beat the top pick last out and figures to be tough again tonight. PRINCETONIAN will be running at the end.
Race 4
RUN RUN rates a slight edge in a fairly weak bottom claimer. DOUBLE DERINGER has just four wins in 63 starts but is running well right now and has to be considered. COURT’S RULING is a contender.
Race 5
SISTAS READY takes a huge class drop and anything close to her best would make her a winner against this bunch. DEAR BENNY has the speed to make the lead and is the one to catch. OLD CENTRE rates a chance.
Race 6
BUD’S BAYONET has been very consistent, finishing in the money in 10 of his last 12 races. He appears to be in a good spot to pick up the win with McKee back aboard for Troy Newton. SHARM will be rallying from just off the pace and his best makes him dangerous. INDY RHYTHM was a game winner last out and fits with these.
Race 7
BLUE MESA was an impressive maiden winner back in December and hooked better company in his last two starts. He drops back in for a tag and should regain his winning ways with Lezcano aboard for Rey Hernandez. ESCALERA overcame a rough trip to finish second last out. He seems to like the Poly and figures to run well again tonight. MOSCOW MINISTER comes off a couple of dull efforts in Florida but McPeek is always tough when he sends a runner to Turfway.
Race 8
BIRDIE is a Calumet homebred who made a big middle move in her debut and held on well to finish third. She figures to move forward off that one and looks best with Abel Lezcano back aboard for Jose Fernandez. LUNE ROUSSE showed big improvement in her last race and a repeat of that one makes her dangerous. UNBRIDLED HUNTRESS makes her Turfway debut for Mick Ruis after hooking better in a couple of turf races in California. She gets in light with apprentice Virginia Tormey and is capable of running well.
Race 9
BELLA KRISTINA has four solid races over this track and looks like a winner with Luan Machado back aboard. WAR EAGLE’S LOVE exits the same race as the top pick and can run well at decent odds. LAKE GIRL looked good winning last out but is a 3-year-old taking on the older runners.
