A woman whose body was found on the grounds of the Citibank Office on Houston Road near Florence early Thursday morning has been identified.
The deceased woman is Amanda Barker, 32, of Lexington.
Boone County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Tom Scheben said deputies were called to the Citibank location at 4600 Houston Road by building security shortly after midnight Thursday. First responders secured the location and detectives and crime scene technicians responded to process the scene.
Barker’s body had apparently been pulled from a vehicle and left in a lighted area near the north entrance to the building. There were no obvious signs of trauma.
There are several surveillance cameras on site and video evidence has been collected and is being reviewed by investigators.
Barker’s body has been taken to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the possible cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
