Performance Lexus River Center of Covington has offered to pay the entire cost to replace the damaged portion of the Northern Kentucky Police Memorial that was believed to have been vandalized overnight Tuesday.
This message was posted on the Memorial Facebook page:
A big THANK YOU to those who have inquired about donating to replace the damaged Memorial Wall. Fortunately, one business has stepped up to the plate and offered to pay the entire replacement cost.
Performance Lexus River Center in Covington and General Manager Lisa Bernstein felt it was their civic duty to cover the entire replacement cost of this monument to those who have given and continue to give so much to protect our community.

Bernstein stated, “I think it is wonderful that so many people want to help restore the monument, but please feel free to divert those monies/donations to other worthy causes. Performance Lexus River Center would like to cover the entire replacement cost of this monument. I believe that the families of the fallen have already sacrificed enough, and our thoughts and prayers are with them. We would also like to help in the re-dedication of the monument once the replacement has been made. It will show our community that despite the disrespectful actions of a few, a community cannot be divided by such malice actions. Quick action to restore the monument that honors those who served and have given their lives for all of us, and their families for all their sacrifice, will send a message and our message will be strong.”
We have another generous commitment from a local corporation that wishes to remain anonymous. That money will be used towards the purchase and installation of security cameras to deter this type of activity in the future. While we are not actively seeking donations, if anyone wishes to help with that project please send your checks to the Northern Kentucky Police Chief’s Association at P.O. Box 18784 Erlanger, KY 41018 and indicate on the memo line that it’s for the Security Camera Project.
Police have also released a surveillance video that shows several persons of interest/potential witnesses to the incident. The video is available on the Northern Kentucky Police Memorial Facebook page at:

Anyone with information about the damage to the memorial, or who might recognize someone in the video, is asked to contact the Covington Police Department at 859.356.3191.

Wonderful! Now that’s a great corporate citizen.
I watched the video. I still think it was a gust of wind and not vandalism.
