A Cincinnati man was arrested Wednesday evening and charged in the Saturday’s robbery of the L&N Federal Credit Union on Donaldson highway.
Marvin D. Ratliff, 61, of Cincinnati, was arrested at the Super 8 Motel on Dream Street in Florence.
On Saturday, October 5, shortly after 11 a.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to L&N Federal Credit Union, located at 822 Donaldson Highway for an active bank robbery.
The suspect, described as a white male, approximately 5’6” – 5’8”, thin faced, thin to medium build, wearing a black flat billed hat, blue latex gloves, gray sweatpants, dark blue zip up hoodie and gray or white tennis shoes, entered the bank at 11:09 AM with his face covered and demanded “big bills”. The suspect spoke with a “soft tone” and made a threat of having a weapon, but a weapon wasn’t displayed. The suspect left the area on foot in the direction of Houston Road.
Ratliff was arrested following an antonymous tip that identified him as a person of interest in the robbery.
Ratliff is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, a Class B Felony and Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, a Class C Felony.
Police say the latter charge resulted from the discovery of a “trafficking amount of fentanyl,” that was recovered at the time of Ratliff’s arrest.
Ratliff is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
