Future voters of any age were encouraged to go to the polls with their parent/guardian to cast a “Kids Voting” ballot in a mock election at a Kids Voting booth.
Kids Voting Northern Kentucky is a non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer organization dedicated to teaching young people the importance of, and to help develop the habit of, voting.
Northern Kentucky kids cast nearly 5,000 votes this year in precincts throughout Northern Kentucky. Additionally, about 250 students volunteered to assemble ballot boxes, work polls and count ballots.
From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., kids voted at the same precinct locations where adults did throughout Kenton and Campbell counties and at several precincts in Boone County, and all of the branches of Boone County Public Library.
Votes were cast in the Governor’s race, Attorney General race and Secretary of State race.
They also weighed in on three topics. Results are as follows:
