Frey started off the 2015 season by scoring her first goal just three minutes into the regular season opener against IPFW. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native struck again in the 48th minute with a header off a cross from sophomore Macy Hamblin as she led the Norse to a 3-1 victory.

In NKU’s 6-0 shut out over Eastern Illinois on Sunday, Frey again got off to a quick start. The forward found the back of the net in the 13th minute, scoring the eventual game-winner after Kelsey Laumann served a through ball that pushed Frey into a one-on-one situation with EIU goalkeeper Maddie Lyon.

In addition to her three goals scored, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native fired a total of 10 shots and notched a .500 shot on goal percentage.

Frey’s efforts in Sunday’s match against EIU helped NKU set a Division I program record in shots on goal with 19 and match the record for most team goals in a single game at six. The Norse also set a Division I benchmark in Friday’s contest after firing 30 total shots, eight of which were registered by Frey.

The sophomore sits atop the Horizon League with six total points following the first weekend of action.

The Norse (2-0) return to the pitch on Friday, Aug. 28 when they travel to Charleston, S.C. to take on The Citadel at 5:30 at WLI Field.
