A week ago, the women’s basketball program at Northern Kentucky University added a talented backcourt transfer from Louisville in Lindsey Duvall.
On Wednesday, NKU lost junior-to-be guard Taylor Clos, who announced she will transfer to Thomas More for her final two seasons.
NKU finished 20-12 this past season and advanced to the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament.
As a freshman, Clos led NKU in scoring at 10.1 points per game. The 5-foot-5 guard poured in a career-best 21 points against Austin Peay during her rookie campaign and made 52 shots from 3-point range.
Clos scored 459 points in two seasons with the Norse. She also buried a total of 78 shots from 3-point range and collected 49 steals.
During her senior season at Campbell County, Clos averaged 22.8 points and 5.0 assists per game, shooting 52.7 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from 3-point range and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line. She was named the 10th Region Player of the Year and also earned all-state honors.
Clos will join a Thomas More program that posted a 22-10 record last season and earned a spot in the NAIA Tournament. The Saints, who won three NCAA Division III national titles before transitioning to the NAIA in 2019-20, were 9-7 in the Mid-South Conference.
