Last night, Rep. Dennis Keene presented a check for $170,000 to the city of Southgate for street repaving projects throughout the city. The funds were secured from the Commonwealth Department of Transportation.
“I am honored to present this check to the city of Southgate,” said Keene. “I am working hard to return some of the taxes we pay on gasoline to our communities for important road projects. Tonight we are helping the city of Southgate with much-needed road dollars to help keep the city roads in good condition.”
Southgate Mayor Jim Hamberg said the road funds will “Go a long way towards major repair efforts for the city’s roadways.”
Keene has served the citizens of the 67th District since 2005 and is the chairman of the House Licensing and Occupations Committee, Vice Chairman of Economic Development, Vice Chairman on the Budget Subcommittee on Transportation and a member of the Banking & Insurance Committee. Keene is a small business owner and an economic development advisor for EGC Construction.
