Four weeks into the 2015-16 athletic season the Thomas More College has three teams ranked nationally in various Top-25 polls.
The football, women’s soccer and men’s soccer have each earned a national ranking.
The Saints’ football team (3-0, 1-0 PAC) is ranked No. 13 in the internet website D3football.com Top-25 and No. 14 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top-25. The Saints, coached by first-year head coach Regis Scafe, are averaging 64.0 points per game and holding opponents to 6.3 points per game.
The offense is producing 599.3 yards of total offense per game, while the defense is holding opponents to 212.7 yards per game. Thomas More is on the road Saturday when it travels to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to play Westminster College at 1 p.m.

The women’s soccer team (4-0-1) is ranked No. 17 in the internet website D3soccer.com Top-25 and No. 18 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25. Jeff Cummings is in his 10th season as the head women’s soccer coach and the Saints are coming off a 2014 season, which saw the team advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament’s Sectional Finals (Elite Eight).
Thomas More has out-scored its first five opponents by a combined margin of 9-1 and have out-shot the opposition 82-35, while posting four shutouts.
The Saints are in action on Thursday when they take on in-state rival Transylvania University at 6 p.m. in Lexington.
Thomas More men’s soccer team (6-1-0) is ranked No. 25 in the NSCAA Top-25. The Saints are coached by first-year head coach Eric Busener. The Saints have out-scored their opposition this season by a combined margin of 22-10 and have a 50-35 advantage on shots on-goal.
Thomas More has scored three or more goals in five of its first seven matches. The Saints are on the road Thursday when they travel to Lexington to play in-state rival Transylvania at 8 p.m.
Thomas More’s athletic teams have a combined record of 25-9-1 (.728) through the first four weeks of the athletic season. Along with the three nationally ranked teams, volleyball, women’s tennis, men’s tennis, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s cross country and women’s cross country are all currently conducting their seasons.
