People Working Cooperatively partners with ACCA for annual Heat the Country event Friday

People Working Cooperatively (PWC) has partnered with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) for the annual Heat the Country Event on Friday, September 25.

The event will begin with a kickoff celebration at 8 a.m. at 2J Supply at 14 Sunnybrook Drive in Cincinnati.

PWC is a non-profit organization serving low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in 20 counties of Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Indiana.

“Heat the Country is a wonderful event that allows us to make a much greater impact than we could alone, through our partnership with ACCA,” said Jock Pitts, President & CEO of People Working Cooperatively. “Heat the Country provides the opportunity to prepare more than 52 homes for winter, and we’re grateful to our partners for joining us in this effort.“

PWC staff and volunteers, alongside more than 25 heating and cooling contractors, will spend the day on Friday, September 25, at client homes, cleaning and tuning furnaces for elderly homeowners. Joe Gertz, Vice President and General Manager of One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning, said his employees look forward to participating each year.

“Every year when I ask my team who wants to volunteer, all the hands go up,” Gertz said. “It’s a good feeling to know we are helping people stay safe and warm this fall and winter.”

After the kickoff, technicians will be dispatched to client homes.
