Ten Northern Kentuckians among those honored as heroes, inducted into state Veterans’ Hall of Fame

Ten Northern Kentuckians were among 25 new heroes honored by the Kentucky Veterans’ Hall of Fame in ceremonies at the Frankfort Convention Center last week.

The gala event began last Friday night with dinner and the reading of each veteran’s accomplishments while in uniform. The next day each veteran was awarded the “Hall of Fame Medallion” recognizing both their military service to our nation and to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The inductees were selected for their valorous military service and for their combined military/civilian service to our community, state, and nation.

The new inductees were representative of every American conflict, but it is not their actions as war heroes that led to their induction into the prestigious Kentucky Veterans’ Hall of Fame. It is their continued civilian service since returning home that qualifies them for this unique honor. All have continued to serve their nation after returning to the civilian world.

HB Deatherage, the founder and director of the Kentucky Veterans’ Hall of Fame said,
“2015 was a very moving and spectacular event to honor the Veterans of our Commonwealth.”
