Trick-or-treat times in your neighborhood for Halloween — and some other fun things to do


Most Northern Kentucky cities have set 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. as the official hours for neighborhood trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Some exceptions are: Cold Spring, 6-7:30 p.m.; Dayton, 5-7 p.m.; Highland Heights, 6-7:30 p.m.; Southgate, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Here are some other opportunities for Halloween fun:

* The Burlington Baptist Church will be having their “Candy on the Corner” event. From 5:00-6:30 there will be several booths set up giving away treats on the corner of East Bend Road and Route 18 in Burlington, just past the courthouse at the four-way stop.

* American National University, Bengal Tots and other area businesses will hold a Halloween Family Fun Fest that is free and open to the public from noon until 5 p.m. at Florence Center on Connector Drive. The event will feature candy, games, inflatables, a petting zoo, and a kid-friendly haunted house!

If you need a last-minute costume, the Costume Gallery at 638 Monmouth in Newport will be open from noon to 6 p.m. You can rent or purchase costumes.

Wanda Kay’s Ghost Shop at 521 Monmouth Street says “Beware The Zombies!” but come for special tours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The St. Creep tours will tell tales of history, murder and corruption in Newport and several people will be dressed as Zombie Gangsters and Flappers following and jumping out to scare the people the tour attendees. Dress-Up if you wish – $25 per person.
