Northern Kentucky University will welcome students for a new academic year with events scheduled over the next three weeks, as well as classes beginning for the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 22.
“We are excited to welcome students, faculty, staff and the community back for a new year of learning, engaging, and discovering” NKU President Ashish Vaidya said. “We are grateful for the students and their families who continue to pursue their ambitions and success at NKU with support from a dedicated faculty and staff.”
VictorFest returned with a bevy of activities, underway over the weekend, with Boo Hoo Woo Hoo (writing notes to loved ones), library tours, and Glow Party. VictorFest events will run through Sept. 9, and will include traditions such as Fresh Fusion, Rec Fest, an outdoor movie, and Paint Wars. For more information on VictorFest, click here.
While NKU will not require masks to be worn on campus, the university strongly recommends they be worn to help combat the current surge of COVID-19. Students are expected to bring a mask to campus, as individual professors, staff members, programs and organizations may require them.
If students don’t have a mask, N95 masks will be available at the Welcome Center, University Center, and Student Union Information Desks, as well as Steely Library, Norse Commons, and Campus Recreation Center.
Rapid and PCR COVID testing is available in Health, Counseling & Student Wellness, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 859-572-5650.
Here’s students’ first-week checklist:
