The Athens, Georgia native was critical in Thomas More’s comeback win against the Kentucky Christian University Knights Saturday afternoon in Grayson. Dowdy caught eight passes for 91 yards in the Saints 31-28 victory, including a trio of touchdowns, all of them coming in the second half.

The first came with 7:30 remaining in the third quarter, where Blaine Espinosa found Dowdy on a 17-yard pass to cut the Knights lead to 11 at 28-17. After an hour and a half long weather delay slowed down the proceedings, Dowdy caught a 28-yard touchdown pass to put the Saints down by five with 3:48 to play in the game.

In their final drive of the game, Espinosa and Dowdy linked up one more time for the game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass to give Thomas More a 29-28 lead with 1:02 remaining. A two-point conversion and defensive stop later and the Saints had their first win of the season in dramatic fashion. Dowdy becomes the first Saint since Nov. 2, 2019, to catch three touchdown passes in a single game.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the NCAA Division I FCS Duquesne University Dukes.
