CVG to honor veterans with help of Boy Scouts who place 400 flags at the airport entrance

For the 11th year in a row, local Boy Scouts will help celebrate Veterans Day by placing more than 400 flags at the entrance of the airport. The flags will be placed on Monday, November 9 at 6 p.m.

“We are so grateful to the brave men and women who serve our country. The local support for our active military personnel and veterans is truly inspiring. We are honored to participate in this event and want to thank Boy Scout Troop #1, the Sons of the American Legion and all the volunteers that make this event a success,” stated Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

CVG also honors troops year round in the USO Military Lounges located in Concourses A and B. More than 15,000 military personnel, veterans and families visit the lounges each every year.

The generosity of the community helps make CVG and the USO Military Lounges successful.

Paradies Shops, who operate many stores at CVG, collect items purchased by passengers in the terminal and donates the items to the USO Military Lounges.

CVG shops also offer special discounts on food and retail items purchased by military personnel.

“USO’s Military Lounges are the result of generous volunteers. We thank Delta Air Lines, Paradies Shops and The Kroger Co. for their donations and the USO volunteers who work in the USO Military Lounges,” said Wm. T (Bill) Robinson III.
