Martinez, a sophomore from Monterey, Mexico, earned a 3.79 GPA majoring in sports business. During the 2015 season, the sophomore played in 18 matches, starting 17 of those contests, and recorded five points on one goal and three assists. Additionally, all three of his assists were on game-winning goals against Memphis, St. Francis (PA) and IPFW.

These latest academic accolades come on the heels of the squad earning the 2014-15 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the first time since moving to NCAA Division I. The Norse earned the distinction after posting a 3.19 GPA during the 2014-15 academic year.
