Covington Police detectives, in coordination with the Evidence Collection Unit, are investigating a scene in the 800 block of Crescent Avenue following the discovery of a body.
At around 7 p.m., officers responded to a report of a body in a wooded area near the 800 block of Crescent Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located a badly decomposed body and requested the assistance of the Investigations Bureau.
The deceased is believed to be Carol Groves, 65, of Covington, who was reported missing in December 2025.
The Covington Police Department extends its condolences to her family during this difficult time.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
