Madrick previously served as Kentucky Humanities’ development director and has led the organization during a period of transition and challenge. Her appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in her leadership and vision for the organization’s future.

“Kay has served Kentucky Humanities with dedication, steadiness, and a clear commitment to our mission during her time as Interim Executive Director,” said Hope Wilden, chair of the Kentucky Humanities Board of Directors. “The Board is confident in her continued ability to guide Kentucky Humanities’ programs, priorities, and strategic direction while remaining mindful of the ongoing financial pressures related to reduced federal funding.”

“We are pleased to formally appoint Kay as executive director and look forward to her continued leadership as Kentucky Humanities moves ahead in service of communities across the Commonwealth,” she said

“I am honored to continue this work as executive director,” said Madrick. “While we face challenges in the years ahead, our mission remains steadfast: to bring people together through stories, ideas, and shared experiences.”
