The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati is preparing to welcome hundreds of local youth for a summer filled with learning, mentorship, recreation and hands-on experiences through its completely free summer programming initiative running June 1 through July 31.
Designed to support working families while keeping youth engaged throughout the summer months, BGCGC’s expanded summer programming will provide eight hours of daily programming Monday through Friday across Club locations in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
The program includes academic enrichment designed to combat summer learning loss, physical activity, arts programming, mentorship opportunities and field trips all at no cost to families. Participants will also receive breakfast, lunch and snacks each day.
“Our goal is to make sure every child has access to a safe, supportive and enriching environment throughout the summer,” said Bill Bresser, CEO, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. “We are proud to offer experiences that keep kids learning, active and connected while also supporting families across our community, and every aspect of the program is completely free.”
Throughout the summer, youth participating in BGCGC programming will experience a wide variety of educational and recreational opportunities. Planned activities include trips to community pools, Camp Joy, the Cincinnati Museum Center, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and Kings Island.

In addition, BGCGC is partnering with American Legacy Theatre to provide theater and arts programming throughout the summer months.
The organization’s summer programming goes far beyond traditional childcare by intentionally creating opportunities for youth development and relationship-building.
“There is so much happening across all of our Club locations during the summer,” said Ali Winters, the BGCGC vice president of development. “Whether it’s academic support, swimming, arts experiences, leadership opportunities or field trips, we want families to know these programs are available to them without financial barriers.”
Summer programming will take place at seven sites throughout the region, in the neighborhoods of East Westwood, Avondale, Price Hill, Newport, Covington and Clermont County. Families interested in enrolling their children can learn more and register by visiting BGCGC Summer Programming.
