KYTC to host public meeting for two KY 536 improvement projects in Kenton County July 22

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will host a public meeting Wednesday, July 22, to share preliminary roadway designs and gather public input on two planned improvement projects along KY 536 in Kenton County.

The meeting will focus on proposed improvements for the following portions of KY 536:

• KY 536 from KY 16 to KY 177
• KY 536 from KY 17 to KY 16

Following the completion of preliminary engineering and environmental studies, a preferred alternative has been identified for each project and will be displayed for public review and comment during the meeting.

The meeting will be held in an open house format Wednesday, July 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the Independence Senior Center located at 2001 Jackwoods Parkway in Independence.

There will be no formal presentation provided during the open house. Those who are interested may stop by at any time to review the preliminary designs, receive handouts containing project information and fill out comment sheets to provide citizen input. Representatives from KYTC and the engineering design consultant will be in attendance to answer questions.

After considering public feedback, the final design phase will take place over the next one to two years.

If unable to attend the open house meeting, KYTC has provided a project webpage that includes more information regarding the overall project.

Once compiled, the meeting record will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Cabinet Office building, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40622.
