Boone County is inviting residents to help shape the future of Camp Ernst Road by participating in an open house Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Boone County Enrichment Center.
The county is partnering with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) to reconstruct Camp Ernst Road from Pleasant Valley to Hathaway Road. This large-scale improvement project will improve safety and ease congestion.
“This is more than a road project. It’s the opportunity to reshape the future of the corridor – how we travel, live and play in the area,” says Gary W. Moore, Boone County Judge-Executive. “We’re in the early planning stages and we want to hear from the residents who live in the area and those that travel along the road. Feedback from the event, along with in-depth research and studies from our engineering firm, will help identify design options.”
Residents will have the opportunity to speak with project team members, review project information and provide feedback on transportation needs and safety concerns. There will be no formal presentation; instead, this will be a charrette process with several stations where attendees can provide input. Please note no design options will be available for review. There will be another Open House in the winter for residents to provide feedback on possible designs.
An online survey will be available on Tuesday, June 30 for individuals unable to attend the Open House. The survey, and additional project information, is available at publicinput.com/campernst.
