The Norse (8-25) pounded out eight hits but couldn’t scratch across a run in the opener, falling 5-0. Hayes and McFarland each had three of NKU’s eight hits, while Dani Devlin and Alina Maher added hits as well. McFarland stole a pair of bases as well.

Harbacek and Maher each drove in runs in the nightcap, but Morehead State (19-16) scored five runs in the final two innings to take a 6-2 win to close out the twin bill.
McFarland scored the game’s first run in the first inning when Harbacek went the other way for an RBI single. Morehead State leveled the score on a Robyn Leighton solo home run before Sydney Ferrante, who reached on an infield triple, scored on a Maher single to make it a 2-1 lead.
Alyssa Enrique picked up her first collegiate hit with a leadoff single in the fifth inning, one of NKU’s five hits on the game. The sophomore took the hard-luck loss, giving up five unearned runs in 2.2 innings of relief work.
