Last Time Out – The Norse are looking to rebound after being swept in a three-game series at Horizon League frontrunner UIC. Paige McQueen went 3-for-6 with an RBI on the weekend and Zahrya McFarland had four hits and scored two runs. Ashlynn Roberts had a solid weekend in the circle, giving up just two earned runs and striking out two in 6.1 innings of relief.

Scouting Wright State – The Raiders enter the midweek series ranked second in the Horizon League, a game back of UIC, after taking two of three games against Youngstown State. Honnah Susor stands as the Raiders’ top hitter with a .364 batting average and a .510 slugging mark with 19 RBIs and a team-best 31 runs scored. Vivi Marquez adds a .339 average with 12 doubles and 20 RBIs. Becka Peterson provides the pop in the WSU lineup, with a League-best 10 home runs and 36 RBIs. In the circle, Ashley Sharp has been true to her name, boasting a 14-5 record with a 1.82 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 119 innings.

The Series – Northern Kentucky holds a slim 5-4 lead in an all-time series between the teams that has laid dormant for 23 years. Back in 1993, the Norse and Raiders split a doubleheader at NKU, with the Norse taking a 5-0 win in the opener before Wright State battled back for an 11-7 win in the nightcap.

Steady Swinging – Nicolette Hayes saw her on-base streak end last weekend, but did reach in two of the three contests, putting her on the base paths in 13 of NKU’s last 14 games. Paige McQueen has been a starter for the Norse as well, reaching safely in each of her last six contests, marking the longest active streak for a Norse player.
