“Daniel has dedicated his career to teaching, research, and service,” Mearns said. “For more than 30 years, he has worked to build a rich and engaging experience for students at both public and private institutions. He brings an impressive depth of experience to our campus that will strengthen our student support and retention efforts.”

As vice president, Dr. Nadler will provide direction and guidance for advancing the University’s strategic priorities of inclusive excellence and student retention and graduation.

He will be an advocate for students and advise other senior administrators on matters of student success.

Nadler said he is honored and excited for the opportunity to join the NKU Leadership team.

“NKU has a strong commitment to student success, as evidenced by the priorities set out in its strategic plan,” Nadler said. “I see the Division of Student Affairs and our excellent staff as contributing to President Mearns’ Fuel the Flame plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University’s founding.  I look forward to building and strengthening dynamic and innovative programs that will meet the needs of our diverse student body.”

The Vice President for Student Affairs provides direct leadership over a wide variety of NKU departments, including those within Student Conduct and Engagement and Student Inclusiveness.

President Mearns said Nadler joins the leadership team at a critical time.

“With state funding continuing to decline, student retention is more important than ever,” he said. “We must do all that we can to recruit students who are prepared to succeed here and then give them the support they need to be successful at NKU and beyond.”

As VP at Eastern Illinois, Nadler leads a student affairs division that includes Assessment, Athletics, Financial Aid and Student Employment, University Police, Campus Recreation, Career Services, Health Services, the University Union, Student Life, Textbook Rental Service, Dining Services, Judicial Affairs, New Student and Family Programs, Greek Life, University Housing, Counseling Center, and Student Legal Services.
