Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Charles Snavely has announced that the cabinet is seeking nominations for the first Secretary’s Award.
The Secretary’s Award will be bestowed in two categories, one for an individual and the other for an entity such as a business, municipality, non-governmental organization, etc.
Nominees should have demonstrated long-term leadership and commitments to sustainability, environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, or responsible development of energy resources.
Special consideration will be given to those who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to preserving and improving the rich and diverse environment of the Commonwealth.
“We are truly pleased to be able honor those who have made a significant contribution to Kentucky’s energy and environment,’’ Snavely said.
Nomination forms can be found on the cabinet’s website at http://eec.ky.gov/Pages/conference.aspx.
Nominations must be received by Aug. 26, 2016.
The awards will be presented during a luncheon at the Governor’s Conference on Energy and the Environment Wednesday, Sept. 22 at the Lexington Convention Center.
