On Tuesday, Aug. 9, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will present Eggs ‘N Issues: Made in Northern Kentucky from 7:30-9:00 am at the Receptions Banquet & Conference Center in Erlanger.

A panel of local leaders will discuss the impact and importance of the manufacturing industry in Northern Kentucky.
Dan Tobergte with Northern Kentucky Tri-ED will moderate a discussion with: Tony Canonaco of Balluff,Ben Schawe of Mazak, Chuck Thomas with Celanese Corporation and Eric Wolff of L’Oreal. Attendees will get a first-hand look at the products made in Northern Kentucky with product displays before the program begins, and walk away with a deeper understanding of how the manufacturing industry contributes to the Northern Kentucky economy.
“Advanced manufacturing makes up more than fifty percent of Northern Kentucky’s primary industry base – it is a huge economic driver for us and a major part of what makes us globally competitive,” Tobergte said. “I think this panel will offer some great insights into how the industry is evolving to embrace new technologies and how those advancements will continue to add tremendous value to our region.”
In Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties, average manufacturing wages tend to be higher than non-manufacturing jobs: $59,500 annually for manufacturing vs $44,500 annually for all jobs. Total employment in advanced manufacturing in Northern Kentucky grew 3.6 percent over the last five years, higher than Kentucky as a whole (2.9 percent) or nationally (1.3 percent)
