In celebration of National Aviation Day, recognized annually on August 19, Skyline Chili partnered with Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to surprise more than 2,000 arriving airline passengers with a warm Queen City welcome.
Unsuspecting travelers from 23 locations nationwide were greeted at CVG’s welcome point Friday afternoon with Skyline’s signature Cheese Coneys and aviation-themed giveaways including pilot wings and toy airplanes.
“Over the years, our Cheese Coneys and 3-Ways have become a cultural trademark of Cincinnati,” said Sarah Sicking, director of marketing for Skyline Chili. “We were thrilled to welcome both natives and newcomers to our city with a heartwarming hometown favorite.”

In addition to the passenger surprise, Skyline and CVG hosted a special National Aviation Day employee luncheon for more than 200 employees to thank them for going above and beyond to provide an unforgettable positive experience for passengers traveling to and from Cincinnati’s hometown airport.
CVG employees participated in a paper airplane contest and enjoyed Skyline’s signature Cheese Coneys, Fresh Select Salads and Sky-Ways, the limited-time fan-favorite menu offering that tops the iconic Ways with 50 percent more shredded cheese.
“National Aviation Day is a special day for CVG and we’re thrilled to be able to celebrate with both our passengers and dedicated employees,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer for CVG. “A big thanks to Skyline for partnering and joining in the fun.”
