Judy Kincaid joins NKyTribune
Judy Kincaid, founder and president of Kincaid Communications, has joined the NKyTribune staff as director of marketing/development.

With over 25 years in the communication business, Judy has assisted both large and small corporations with new business development, strategic planning, media relations and overall marketing strategy. From the housing industry, to health care, to advertising, to technology, she has helped com[anies grow and succeed. In addition, she has served on numerous professional and community boards, with an emphasis on helping women and minority enterprises find their niche in the competitive marketplace.

Flosts open Union Salon Suites
Jim and John Flost, owners of Union Salon Suites, will join City of Union officials for a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the new business at 1587 Calvery Drive at 9:30 a.m on October 24.
Union Mayor Larry Solomon, along with members of the Union City Commission will be present. The Mayor will make a series of brief remarks prior to the cutting of the ribbon.
The ceremony is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

Gateway’s speech team
The Gateway Community and Technical College speech team performed very well this weekend at Berea College’s speech tournament.

The Gateway team of Sawyer Edelbroich and Stewart Newburger competed in novice parliamentary debate and advanced all the way to the semi-finals (top 4) where they lost to the novice parliamentary debate champions, a team from the University of Virginia. There were a total of 37 teams competing in the novice parliamentary debate division.
In addition, Sawyer Edelbroich won fourteenth place in novice parliamentary debate speaker awards out of total of 74 individual competitors, and Katie Curry won sixth place in dramatic interpretation.
The Gateway team won second place overall in the community college division. This was the first tournament of this forensics season. “Overall, I was very happy with how we performed,” said Gateway director of forensics and associate professor, Randy DeBerry. “I think we have no place to go but up.”
