Honor Run Half Marathon 2016 will fund Honor Flights, support home renovation for local veteran

The numbers are in and 2016 was the most successful year to date for the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Honor Run Half Marathon.

st-e-honor-run-half-marathonThe Honor Run Half Marathon will donate $42,000 to Honor Flight Tri State with proceeds from this year’s event. The donation will fully fund one flight and partially fund another for World War II, Korea, and Vietnam veterans to travel to Washington D.C., to see the memorials dedicated to their respective conflicts.

The organization will also donate $8,000 to Habitat for Humanity to fund a home repair project for a local veteran.

The final numbers are in and 2016 was our most successful year yet.

 Because of you we are able to expand our reach to help more local veterans. Funding a full flight for Honor Flight Tri State is and always will be our primary responsibility. With the growth of our event we also wanted to find a way to reach out and support our local veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. We are extremely proud to announce the following donations:

We will be donating $42,000 to Honor Flight Tri State. This will send a full flight and partially fund a second flight of local veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam so they can go to Washington DC to see their memorials that they have earned.

We are also proud to announce a new partnership with Habitat For Humanity of Cincinnati. We are donating $8,000 to Habitat to help fund a home repair project for a local veteran returning from Iraq or Afghanistan.

Over the last three years we have been able to donate a total of $117,000 to help our local veterans. Thank you to all of our participants, volunteers, and sponsors for making this happen and allowing us to achieve our mission of honoring those that have served us.
