Covington resident, business owner chosen as speaker at TEDxUCincinnati program


Covington resident and business owner, Cole Imperi, was recently chosen as a speaker for TEDxUCincinnati, which will take place on Friday, March 27, at the University of Cincinnati. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature local voices and TED Talks videos under the theme of Rise and Reimagine.

Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.

Imperi is one of nine speakers including Kanniks Kannikeswaren, Adjunct Faculty, College of Conservatory of Music; Karen Bankston, MSN, FACHE; Ken Petren, dean, McMicken College of Arts and Sciences; Kyle Gundrum, UC Grad; Paul Miklautsch, Co-founder, Start Something Bold; Tamaya Dennard, director of community affairs, p.g. Sittenfeld’s Office; Vikas Mehta, urban designer; and Zack Sonner, doctoral candidate, UC.

“I have often turned to TED talks as a source of information and inspiration in my own life. I am honored to have been chosen to contribute my perspectives on grief and loss to the ongoing conversations fostered through TED,” Imperi said.

Imperi is the Owner and Creative Director of Doth. She holds a post-graduate Certificate in Typeface Design from the Type@Cooper Condensed Program and degrees in Journalism and Judaic Studies. She is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and is in the process of completing her Thanatology certification. She is a Certified Crematory Operator.

Cole serves as a board member of several nonprofits and community organizations and is teaching faculty for the ICCFA Cremation Arranger Certification program. She strongly believes in living your values and cultivating vibrant communities.

Her comprehensive approach towards brand architecture and identity design has garnered Imperi attention and acclaim for her work with clients across the board; in the luxury, retail, deathcare, wellness, yoga, automotive, food, pet care, architecture and nonprofit markets. Cole is an award winning designer, deathcare professional and yoga specialist.
