Charity Night is an energizing night of Monte Carlo gaming where the participating charities earn the ability to back horses in Turfway’s Kentucky Derby prep race, the $500,000 JACK Cincinnati Casino Spiral Stakes. Players try their luck at roulette, poker, blackjack and other casino games, designating play-money winnings to one of the participating charities.

The charity with the most “money” in chips at the end of the night gets first pick of horses running in the Spiral Stakes the following Saturday. The charity whose horse finishes best of those chosen receives $5,000 for its work. The next-nearest horse earns $3,500 for its charity, the third-best of those chosen earns $2,500 for the charity it represents, and the remaining charities receive $1,500 each.

The Yearlings, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization committed to providing scholarships for non-traditional female students at NKU, Thomas More College, Gateway Community & Technical College and the University of Cincinnati. In addition it also supports selected local charities through service and financial donations. Since 1986, The Yearlings, Inc. has given over $845,000 to charities and The Yearlings Scholarship funds.
