Celebrate Fat Tuesday/Fastnacht the German way at Hofbräuhaus Newport on Tuesday, February 28, from 6 p.m. till closing.
Fat Tuesday – Fastnacht is a German custom of celebrating the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which begins the season of Lent, the time of fasting before Easter.
Prizes will be presented for the best Fat Tuesday costumes worn by children and adults.
Celebrate Fat Tuesday and the area’s German heritage.
The event is sponsored by the German-American Citizens League.
Fat Tuesday/Fastnacht at HBH Newport benefits the German Heritage Museum, which showcases the German heritage of the region.
