Thomas More College junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.) completed the sweep of NCAA Division III Player of the Year honors Monday when she was named the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Player of the Year at the fifth annual WBCA Awards Show in Tampa, Florida.
The event is part of the WBCA National Convention and is held in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Final Four.

Moss holds all three Division III National Player of the Year awards. She was also named the D3hoops.com Player of the Year and the Women’s DIII News Player of the Year in March. This is the second-straight season that Moss has swept all three Division III National Player of the Year awards.
She was also named a first team All-American by all three organizations and was the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Year.
Moss led the nation in scoring last season with 24.2 points per game and ranked third in triple doubles, including one in the NCAA Division III Championship game.
She ranked in the Top-100 in five other statistical categories: 16th in assists turnover ratio (2.29), 45th in field goal percentage (51.8), 46th in three-point field goal percentage (38.4), 66th in double doubles (12) and 98th in assists per game (4.0). Moss also led the team in rebounds with 7.6 rebounds per game and blocked 18 shots and recorded 60 steals.
During the NCAA postseason, Moss broke the NCAA all-division women’s or men’s tournament scoring record as she scored 197 points in the Saints’ six NCAA tournament games.
Thomas More posted its first undefeated season (33-0) and first team National Championship in the College’s history as the team under coach Jeff Hans. The Saints defeated No. 3-ranked George Fox University, 83-63, in the title game in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 21.
The Saints also earned the No. 1 ranking in both the D3hoops.com and WBCA Coaches’ final Division III polls to go with the NCAA’s National Championship Trophy.
