Obituary For A. Wayne Doane
A. Wayne Doane, 75, of Burlington, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, KY. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather.
Wayne was a retired independent life insurance sales representative who touched the lives of many with his kindness and charisma. Wayne’s passion for baseball was evident throughout his life. As a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, he enjoyed nothing more than cheering them on from the stands. His love for the sport extended to coaching baseball, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with countless young athletes.
Known as the life of the party, Wayne had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and included. His vibrant personality and genuine interest in others earned him friendships that spanned generations.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Margaret Doane, and his brother-in-law, Rev. William Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Doane; children: Brett Doane, Kristin Doane, and Kadee (Jeff) Spahn; grandchildren, Jacob and Kristopher; dear friends, Bill Hauser and Larry McMillan; sister-in-law, brother-in-law and two nieces.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 9:30 AM-11:15 AM, at Linnemann Funeral Homes, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005. Entombment will immediately follow at Mother of God Cemetery.
