Obituary For Alanna Beth Owens

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Alanna Beth Owens, at just 8 years of age. Alanna was a bright light in our world, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Even at a young age, she was empathetic beyond her years and possessed many beautiful qualities that will never be forgotten. From making silly jokes to make her classmates smile, to picking out her own birthday gift, just to gift to her little brother. She was sweet, kind, playful, generous, adventurous, fearless and a true social butterfly whose smile could brighten anyone’s day.

Alanna loved cats, playing games, writing songs, going to Kings Island, and traveling—especially to Italy, Hawaii and Disney. We imagine her dancing in heaven with her Great Grandpapa, only to take breaks eating Whoppers together. Most of all, she was the best daughter and sister her family could ever have asked for.

Alanna’s memory will be cherished by her parents, Preston and Amber (Marksberry) Owens; her brothers, Paxton and Elliott; maternal grandparents, John and Beth Mericle; paternal grandparents, Richard and Norene Owens; her great-aunt, Wanda Smith (the late Jim Smith); her aunts and uncles, Darryl Marksberry, Sarah Waters, Joel Mericle, Reagan Mericle, Noah Mericle, Kelly Moening (David), and Ryan Owens (Goi); and her cousins, Alex, Kate, Lily, Will, and Dillan. As well as her Great-Grandmama, great-uncles, and many extended family members. Alanna was so loved.

Family and friends will gather to remember Alanna’s life with a visitation on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 U.S. Hwy 42, Florence, Kentucky 41042. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the funeral home. Our sweet angel will be laid to rest at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery immediately following the service.
