Alfred F. Bennett, 79, of Newport, KY, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Born on April 1, 1947, in Dayton, Alfred was the beloved son of the late Ernest and Anna Mae Bennett. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Christ for many years. Alfred especially enjoyed serving as the night security guard for the annual Newport Kentucky River Festival, a role he looked forward to each year. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle and treasured the time he spent with his family, who truly were the center of his life. Alfred found his greatest joy in making memories with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his son, Billy Bennett; brothers, Tony Bennett and Charles Chandler; and sisters, Mary Ann Hysile, Dottie Schooler, Jackie Morgan, Gay Laney, Gloria Sexton, and Roberta Bennett.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jewell Bennett; sons, Johnny Bennett and Dean Bennett; brothers-in-law, Ray Laney, Michael Morgan, and Johnny Dotson; sisters-in-law, Tracy Flynn and Karen Monqual; grandchildren, Ashley Baker, Nicholas Bennett, and Gage (Torie) Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Maliki Hambrick, Aikia Hambrick, Marqilyn Hambrick, Cameron Bennett, and Devin Bennett.

Alfred’s family and friends will remember him for his unwavering love, his kind heart, and his passion for life. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, joy, and cherished memories.
